Cider Rum Punch: the Perfect Halloween Treat

imageWith October 31st right around the corner, it’s time to get all of the necessary supplies for your Halloween party. Once the candy, decorations and food are all in place, it’s time to turn to the most important ingredient, cocktails. Why not impress your guests with a dangerously delicious rum punch this year made with Denizen Rum? Our 8 year aged Merchant’s Reserve is made with a blend of rums from Jamaica and Martinique. It’s full of flavor and works well in a number of cocktails or even by itself with a few ice cubes.

Instead of going with an overly sweet, super-scary Halloween themed drink, we decided to create a rum punch that is easy to make and celebrates the crisp flavors of the season. Not straying too far from the traditional “1 of sour, two of sweet, 3 of strong, 4 of weak” recipe rhyme, we came up with this tasty punch recipe that showcases the distinct flavor profile of Denizen Merchant’s Reserve Rum and should go over well at your party. Cider Rum Punch

3/4 oz. of fresh squeezed lime juice.
1oz. of cinammon infused simple syrup
2oz. of Denizen Merchant’s Reserve Rum
3oz. of apple cider
2 generous dashes of Angostura Bitters

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail tin and shake vigorously until ice cold. Strain into an ice-filled glass and garnish with a slice of apple. Serve to your ghoulish guests and enjoy the party.
